NAWCAD AIRWork’s mission is to deliver world-class capabilities to the warfighter by being a Government Lead Systems Integrator (LSI) organization that rapidly executes aircraft modifications, cradle-to-initial sustainment, and provides a solution-oriented workforce that brings innovation into the acquisition and engineering project lifecycles. We leverage organic, mid-tier industry and small business capabilities as an alternative to the major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to rapidly get capability onto our weapon systems at a competitive cost. We enable access to operationally relevant environments, enable maturing technology projects the ability to demonstrate asymmetric warfighting value, plus a means for transition. We are fully aligned with the Navy's, NAVAIR's, and NAWCAD's Command initiatives and are ready to energize our organic and commercial industrial bases to the task.
About the Speaker
Gerald A. Swift is the Director for AIRWorks, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Naval Air Systems Command, NAS Patuxent River, MD. He leads a diverse $1.5 billion aircraft modification and rapid prototyping portfolio and oversees a $750 million annual non-Navy workload acceptance portfolio for the NAWCAD Commander. In addition, the Office runs high-visibility special projects for ASN(RDA) and NAVAIR for rapid fielding to meet urgent warfighter needs.
